These turned out shitty. I screwed up the guy so much in the beggining that I just gave up halfway through. I have a really hard time focusing on the drawing lately. I go into autopilot mode too often, and end up not drawing what I see, but a similiar character in my own style. That's a really bad thing to do.
As for the comic:
I started inking #1. I'll get back to sketching #2 (and starting #3), after I am done with this one.
Sorry, no comic today. Holidays burned me out. I worked on someting fun to recharge my batteries. After all of the painting studies, I've been itching to try painting something from imagination. A cheerleader with a dick seemed like a fine subject:
Hi guys! Guess who caught another fucking disease this week! But instead of shitting and vomiting I got to caugh, ooze copious amounts of mucus from my nose and rest in bed, so it wasn't that bad in context. But I am all right now and ready to get back to work full t- wh- oh the holidays? Oh yeah, that's happening next week, I forgot.
So, another unproductive week ahead of me, huh?
But, getting back to this dissapointment:
Some more Sai painting. Now I am really itching to try this out without a reference.
Yeah, motherfuckers! It's a Christmass miracle (it's 24th here alredy)! I got this shit started!
I am going try to update it every day, like the previous comic. And since I am doing that I'll probably also include the studies I did that day. So I guess dailies are back on? What?
This week was pretty good. I put in a lot of work into overdue commissions. I am sitting on 4 pretty much done images that are waiting for either, some final touches, or my day in the Pantboy's cuhrazy christmass project.
Aaaw shit! More wonky copies of better artists drawings! Whoopieee.
From the top:
-Matteo de Longis (love that dude's style)
-That guy what does that BDSM comic, about that school teacher
Practicing realistic skintones as well as using the watercolour brush in SAI. That shit is so good
This week I realised how bad I am at copying photos and drawings. I don't have the patience to get it 100% right.
NOTHING. I haven't touched it. I'll try to finish up the script and start drawing it next week. Try.
After a week of not drawing (first time in years for me), I wanted to do something light to get back into the grind. I did a lot of quick studies of heads from the "Tangled" movie. I tried learning how to draw more expressive faces, since I feel that's been lacking from my art. Warning: most of them look goofy as fuck:
I really learned a lot doing these. I never really did a lot of copying of other artists. It always felt like cheating to me, but now I think I was missing out on a lot.
More studies from other artists drawings:
I need to do more of these. They are really helping me out
fter doing muh Tangled head studies I decided to do some more work on the face designs for the characters. I tried to make them look more interesting. Also I did some quick sketches for their outfits and body types.
I think I am pretty happy with their looks right now. Now I just need to finish the script for the first story and I can start drawing it.
I have nothing for you this week. All I did in the last 7 days was move to a new apartament just to shit and vomit all over the place when I caught a stomach flu right after I settled in. This might have been the worse week of my adult life.
I'll move weekly content dumps to sunday. I should have some stuff for you then. Also it makes more sense to have them on end rather than the middle of the week.
